Biography

Born in 1959, Miquel Pujadó wrote his first songs when he was 15 years old, and started to sing on stage with Catalan singers as Lluís Llach, Pi de la Serra or Raimon in 1976.

His first album released in 1982, the same year when he finished his studies of Philology at the University of Barcelona. He worked a long time (20 years) as a teacher of Language and Literature, without ceasing his activities as a singer-songwriter. The following albums have been released with his own songs:

Miquel Pujadó has been written many songs for other groups, musicians and singers, as: La Salseta del Poble Sec, Dyango, Guillermina Motta, Paco Muñoz, Casellas Sextet Folk, Lídya Casaprima, Maria Josep Villarroya, TV3 Orchestra, Titot, Mesclat, Manel Camp, etc.

He knows very profoundly European songs, specially French and Catalan Song of the XXth Century. Three years ago, he becamed Doctor in Philology with a thesis about both songs compared. One part of this thesis was publied as Diccionari de la Cançó. Dels Setze Jutges al Rock Català (Ed. Proa, 2000). He has been written and still writes hundreds of articles about Song for magazines or newspapers as SERRA D'OR, REVISTA MUSICAL CATALANA, CAHIERS D'ÉTUDES LÉO FERRÉ, ROCK&CLÀSSIC, etc, and he writes and/or conducts and presents SEGONS LA LLUNA (IDepends of the Moon), LA SENYORA CANÇÓ (Mrs. Song) and DEL LLIBRE A L'ORELLA (From the Book to the Ear), in Catalunya Ràdio, an important Catalan broadcasting station.

Miquel Pujadó visited very often France to sing, and shared the stage and others experiences with Léo Ferré, Georges Moustaki, Jean Ferrat, Allain Leprest, Gilbert Laffaille and many others French singers. Two years ago, he decided to create LE JARDIN EXTRAORDINAIRE (The Extraordinary Garden), a personal anthology of French songs (with songwriters as Brassens, Brel, Barbara, Vian, Perret, Béart, Ferré, Bécaud, Aznavour, etc) and he sings these songs in French Institutes or Languages schools all over the world, to popularize and explain the work of some extraordinaries poets and musicians, and also to help the students to familiarize themselves with french language by means of some splendid songs.
